Ground worker
Course Description
Tree work is teamwork. Even the most skilled
climber or aerial lift operator relies on competent skilled ground
support. Often times the safety and efficiency of the job is decided not
by the worker aloft, but by the ground crew. This course is designed to
give arborists new to the industry a strong foundation in basic ground
worker skills. Understanding job planning and JSA documentation,
efficient work flow, operation of brush chippers and basic chainsaw use
will be covered. Ground assist for workers aloft, basic knots and rope
use for lowering and tree felling are also explained to bring students a
comprehensive training experience and the ability to rapidly contribute
to the safe completion of production arboriculture.
