Course Description

This one day module is designed to educate and train tree industry personnel in the basics of first aid, cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR), and the use of an AED (automated external defibrillator). Emphasis is on the basic skills needed to respond to medical emergencies in both professional work environments and private home situations. Participants are educated in basic first aid response to a variety of medical situations and problems, including practical exercises in applying bandages, splints, CPR techniques, and application/use of an AED. The course involves and includes active action in scenarios involving first aid, CPR, and an AED. All participants will receive First Aid and CPR Cards upon successfully completing all tests and course requirements

Applicable Standards

This course meets the ANSI / ASSE Z490.1 Criteria for Accepted Practices in Safety, Health, and Environmental Training as well as the National Safety Council’s (NSC) criteria for First Aid and CPR.
