Competency evaluations assist employers with identifying the current state of their workforce’s knowledge, skills, and abilities utilizing a hands-on evaluation method consistent with how workers would be applying and practicing their skills / craft in the field. Competency evaluations can be done at anytime, but are typically most effective when performed prior to hire or job assignment; prior to a training event; after a training event; or when an employee role change occurs.
